Update as at 01.09.18 – Unfortunately due to the extremely high response rate we have had to this initiative we are currently not accepting any more kit for recycling. We are working on further opportunities for this as there is clearly an awful lot of demand!
Our managing director has been cycling all of his life and as a passionate environmentalist he spent weeks trying to find a solution to the problem of unused kit sitting in the wardrobe. Wouldn’t it be great to somehow give this kit to kids in Africa who are desperate to ride their bikes and would value this kit so much.
The solution came when we discovered that professional cyclist Matt Brammeier, who rides for African team Dimension Data formally Qhubeka, has set up an initiative in the UK where cyclists can donate their unwanted cycling kit and it is then shipped over to Rwanda. This means that Australians can ensure that not only is their kit reused for many more years and therefore avoiding waste being sent to landfill
We have recently partnered with Matt and the Africa Rising project to help Australians donate cycling kit to African cyclists. Matt has set up the Africa Rising Kit Appeal with the aim to ‘EMPTY YOUR CLOGGED UP WARDROBES, DRAWS AND GARAGES AND GIVE A LITTLE INSPIRATION TO THESE YOUNG KIDS THAT IRONICALLY INSPIRE ME SO MUCH’
T2 Environmental provides a drop off service here in Noosa and you can also post any spare kit you have to us. We have had an unbelievable response already to our campaign and will be sending our first shipment to Africa shortly.
If you would like to donate your kit then please complete the form below and we will send the address details.
Important!! Please don’t include clothing above size Medium, anything bigger (L,XL, XXL etc) is no use to us. Thanks
